How to wash and care for your hijab
Simple care that keeps your hijabs soft, bright and in shape for longer.
A good hijab lasts for years if you treat it gently. Here is the simple routine.
Washing
- Hand wash in cool water, or use a gentle cycle in a laundry bag.
- Use a mild detergent and wash dark shades separately.
- Do not wring. Press out the water with a towel.
Drying
Dry flat or on a hanger in the shade. Strong sun can fade dark colours over time.
Ironing
Use a low heat setting. Modal crinkle does not need ironing at all, and jersey only needs a light steam.
Keep pins out of the wash. A small bag of bulb pins is easier than searching for them later.
