Bismillah: how Laura Veils began
Our very first post went up on 13 June 2024. This is where the story starts.
Our first post on Instagram was a single line: Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim, in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. That was 13 June 2024, and it is still how we start every new collection.
The idea
We wanted one place in the UAE where you could find a hijab in exactly the shade you had in mind. Not "a beige", but the beige that suits your skin and your abaya. That is why we work with one brand we know inside out, Moja, and why we photograph every shade ourselves.
What came next
Within weeks we were posting new fabrics almost every day: crinkle, shimmer jersey, chiffon and satin. The page grew one customer at a time.
