Fathima Ashik Khan (@fathimashikhan): leopard print and brown
In July 2026 Fathima Ashik Khan showed two Laura Veils hijabs on her stories: a leopard print and a warm brown.

Fathima Ashik Khan (@fathimashikhan) is honest about where she is. Her profile reads "Beauty beginner", then "Learning makeup one mistake at a time" and "Honest reviews & real progress". On 12 July 2026 she showed her followers two of our hijabs, one after the other, and let them see the difference for themselves.
The stories
She tagged @lauraveils with a white heart and started simply:
"so I've got some hijabs"
Then she showed two looks:
- First, a leopard print hijab: beige and brown, bold, but soft in the way it falls.
- Then, a warm brown hijab: plain and easy.
Both were worn with the same deep berry top. We added both stories to our Influencer Picks.
Why the same outfit matters
Showing two hijabs with one outfit is the most useful thing a creator can do, because it answers the question every shopper has: what will this look like on me, with my clothes? Here you can see it directly.
- With the leopard print, the hijab is the centre of the look. The berry top becomes the background.
- With the plain brown, the outfit leads. The berry colour comes forward and the hijab frames the face quietly.
Neither is right or wrong. They are two moods from the same wardrobe.
The look, piece by piece
- Hijab one: a classic beige and brown leopard print, wrapped around the face and draped over the shoulders.
- Hijab two: a warm, plain brown.
- The top: a deep berry, close to magenta, with soft sleeves.
- The finish: fresh make-up, which suits a creator whose page is all about learning it.
Print or plain: how to choose
Choose a print when:
- your outfit is plain, in one colour;
- you want the hijab to be the statement;
- it is a day out, a brunch or a holiday photo.
Choose plain when:
- your outfit already has a print or strong detail;
- you are going to work or university;
- you want one hijab that goes with many outfits.
Most women want both in their drawer, and Fathima showed why in two stories.
How to wear a leopard print without it looking loud
1. Wear it with one solid colour. Berry, black, cream, camel or olive all work.
2. Pick the print in your colour family. Warm beige and brown leopards suit warm outfits; grey leopards suit cool ones.
3. Keep the jewellery simple. Let the print be the only pattern near your face.
4. Show the print. A loose drape over the shoulders shows more of the pattern than a tight wrap.
Know the fabric: printed chiffon
Our leopard and animal prints are chiffon, not Malaysian heavy chiffon. Chiffon is light and floaty. It falls softly around the face and moves when you move, which is what makes a print look alive.
- Look: light and flowy, with the print on one side.
- Size: 2 m long.
- Coverage: chiffon is lighter, so wear it over a tie cap. The cap keeps it opaque and gives it something to grip.
- Best for: days when you want the hijab to be the statement, and for summer.
For the plain brown, Malaysian heavy chiffon is the everyday choice.
Know the fabric: Malaysian heavy chiffon (georgette)
Most of the UAE knows this fabric as Malaysian chiffon or Malaysian heavy chiffon. Because the surface has a soft grain, a lot of people also call it georgette. It is not the light, sheer chiffon used for occasion shaylas. It is heavier, and that weight is the whole point.
- Look: matte, with a soft grain. No shine in photos.
- Coverage: opaque, so you do not need an undercap for coverage.
- Hold: it grips the cap and does not slide back during the day.
- Size: 2 m long, enough to wrap, pin and still let it fall.
- Best for: every day, work, university, and as a shayla.
By November 2025 it came in more than 100 shades, and it is still our biggest colour range. You can compare them side by side in the Shade Studio.

Looking after it
Hand wash in cool water, or use a gentle cycle inside a laundry bag. Do not wring it; press the water out with a towel and dry it in the shade, because strong sun fades dark colours over time. Iron on a low setting. The full routine is in our care guide.
Questions
Is the leopard print hijab chiffon?
Yes. Our leopard and animal prints are chiffon: light and flowy, 2 m long, with the print on one side. Wear them over a tie cap.
What colours go with a leopard print hijab?
Solid colours: berry, black, cream, camel, olive and white. Avoid other strong prints near the face.
Should I buy a print or a plain hijab first?
Plain first, because it goes with more outfits. Then add a print for the days you want the hijab to be the statement.
