Sia (@siararattz_): some behind the scenes
In November 2024 Sia (@siararattz_) posted a behind-the-scenes reel in her Laura Veils hijab.

Sia (@siararattz_) kept it short. On 8 November 2024 she posted a behind-the-scenes reel in her Laura Veils hijab with a two-word caption and one emoji. Short as it was, it showed more about a hijab than most long reviews do.
Who she is
Sia describes herself as "on the mic, in your feed, around the world". Around 15,000 people follow her, and you can see in every reel how comfortable she is in front of a camera.

The reel has more than 3,700 likes and nearly 90 comments. When we added it to our Influencer Picks highlight, we wrote the only thing we could think of: "Wow, you look beautiful with our hijabs 😍"
The look, piece by piece
- The hijab: a deep coffee brown, wrapped simply and close around the face, with the long side falling down the front.
- The top: a fitted, ribbed knit in a soft pink-beige, with long sleeves.
- The setting: a staircase with a wooden banister, in front of a green-painted door. Warm wood, cool green, soft pink.
- The mood: relaxed and smiling. Between takes, not posing for one.
Dark brown against pink-beige is a quietly brilliant pairing. The deep brown frames the face more softly than black would, and the pale knit keeps the whole look light. The two colours share the same warmth, so nothing clashes.
What "behind the scenes" shows about a hijab
A finished photo can hide a lot. Behind the scenes there is no hiding. You lean on a banister, laugh, turn, fix your sleeve, and do it all again for the next take. A hijab has to stay in place through all of that, sit right from every angle, and still feel comfortable after an hour.
That is the real test, and it is why we love BTS content. If a hijab looks good between takes, it will look good on a normal day.
Why brown is the new black
Black is the classic, and we sell a lot of it. But a deep brown is often the kinder choice.
- It is softer near the face. Brown frames the face without the hard contrast of black, so it suits more skin tones.
- It goes with black, too. A deep brown hijab looks rich with a black abaya.
- It loves warm colours. Pink, beige, camel, cream, rust and olive all look better next to brown.
- It photographs warmly. In daylight and indoor light, brown reads rich, not flat.
How to get Sia's clean wrap
1. Wear a cap so the hijab has a firm base and no hair shows.
2. Place the hijab with one side clearly longer than the other.
3. Pin under the chin, close to the face.
4. Take the shorter side around the back of the head and pin above the opposite ear.
5. Bring the long side forward so it falls straight down the front, over the knit.
With Malaysian heavy chiffon the wrap holds its shape through movement, so you can lean, turn and laugh without adjusting it every few minutes.
Style it three ways
- Like Sia: deep brown hijab, a fitted pink, beige or cream knit, and wide trousers.
- Smart: deep brown hijab, a cream shirt and a black abaya.
- Warm weekend: deep brown hijab, a camel cardigan and denim.
Know the fabric: Malaysian heavy chiffon (georgette)
Most of the UAE knows this fabric as Malaysian chiffon or Malaysian heavy chiffon. Because the surface has a soft grain, a lot of people also call it georgette. It is not the light, sheer chiffon used for occasion shaylas. It is heavier, and that weight is the whole point.
- Look: matte, with a soft grain. No shine in photos.
- Coverage: opaque, so you do not need an undercap for coverage.
- Hold: it grips the cap and does not slide back during the day.
- Size: 2 m long, enough to wrap, pin and still let it fall.
- Best for: every day, work, university, and as a shayla.
By November 2025 it came in more than 100 shades, and it is still our biggest colour range. You can compare them side by side in the Shade Studio.
Shades to try
For Sia's look, start with Chocolate or Cacao for the deepest browns, and try Saddle Brown or Pecan Brown for a warmer, lighter brown.

Looking after it
Hand wash in cool water, or use a gentle cycle inside a laundry bag. Do not wring it; press the water out with a towel and dry it in the shade, because strong sun fades dark colours over time. Iron on a low setting. The full routine is in our care guide.
Questions
Is a brown hijab easier to wear than black?
For many women, yes. Deep brown frames the face more softly, suits a wide range of skin tones, and still looks good with a black abaya.
Which colours go with a dark brown hijab?
Warm colours: pink, beige, cream, camel, rust and olive. It also looks rich with black and with denim.
Will Malaysian heavy chiffon stay in place if I move a lot?
Yes. It is heavier than regular chiffon and grips the cap, so it stays put while you move.
